Cristi López
b. 1993

I am an artist, mental health advocate, and first-generation American of Dominican, Spanish, and Cuban descent. I graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2016 with a BFA in Illustration.

My work utilizes the human figure as a means of externalizing the covert aspects of mental illness. I aim to remind those of us living with mental illness that our experiences deserve to be acknowledged without judgment. To be portrayed is to be seen. The neurodivergent mind is not to be relegated to the shadows. It is to be explored in full color.

I am currently based in St. Petersburg, Florida, and am represented by A Very Serious Gallery in Chicago.
