ABOUT

Cristi López
b. 1993

I am an artist, mental health advocate, and first-generation American of Dominican, Spanish, and Cuban descent. I graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2016 with a BFA in Illustration.

My work explores the often-invisible journeys of navigating mental illness, femininity, and faith. I create pieces as vibrant sites of connection and visibility, using visual storytelling to honor heritage, explore identity, and spark meaningful dialogue. My work transforms everyday spaces into places where people feel seen, valued, and inspired to connect.

I host the Queer Contours figure drawing series in collaboration with Queer Expression St. Pete, and teach vinyasa yoga at SukhaLife. In all of my endeavors, I aim to cultivate environments that connect people with themselves and each other, whether that be through creative expression, perceptual drawing, education and awareness, or mindful movement.

I am currently based in St. Petersburg, Florida.
